STRONGER TOGETHER: POC AND PSC UNITE FOR FILIPINO ATHLETES
21 December, 2025
POC and PSC formalize renewed cooperation, uniting efforts to strengthen athlete support and boost Philippine performance on the global stage.
A new chapter in Philippine sports governance begins as Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino and Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman John Patrick “Pato” Gregorio formally align efforts to strengthen support for Filipino athletes.
The renewed partnership seeks to move past previous divisions and establish a more cohesive system for athlete development. Under the unified framework, the PSC will continue to provide government-backed training programs, funding, and logistical support, while the POC ensures athlete participation and representation in the Olympics and other major international competitions.
Sports officials emphasized that athletes perform best under a coordinated support structure, noting that fragmented leadership and overlapping mandates have historically hindered progress. With both institutions now working in close coordination, national athletes are expected to benefit from clearer pathways, stronger preparation, and improved competitive readiness.
The collaboration positions Team Philippines for sustained growth, reinforcing the shared goal of elevating Filipino athletes to excel and consistently compete at the highest levels of international sport.
