Pattaya, Thailand — Away from the spotlight of boxing rings and packed arenas, the Philippines delivered another commanding performance at the 2025 SEA Games—this time in Modern Pentathlon.

Samuel German stamped his authority in the Men’s Obstacle Laser Run at Jomtien Beach, surging to a gold-medal finish with a display of speed, endurance, and precision. German controlled the race from start to finish, outperforming the field to secure yet another top podium result for Team Philippines.

The event became a showcase of Filipino strength as the country completed a 1–2 finish, with teammate Melvin Sacay, a gold medalist earlier in the Games, powering his way to silver.

German’s victory capped a stellar campaign for the Philippine Modern Pentathlon team, which emerged as one of the most successful squads in the competition. By the close of the Games, the team amassed three gold medals, three silver medals, and one bronze, underscoring the nation’s growing dominance in the sport.

While attention was drawn elsewhere, Philippine modern pentathletes quietly delivered excellence—proving that gold shines just as brightly beyond the main stage.
