UAE Government Urges Remote Work Amid Severe Weather
19 December, 2025
UAE authorities advise private sector companies to implement remote work as heavy rain and thunderstorms continue across the country.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has urged private sector companies in the most affected areas to implement remote work on Friday, December 19, for roles where feasible, as unstable weather conditions continue across the UAE.
The advisory comes amid heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and a yellow alert issued by the National Centre of Meteorology for rain, lightning, and possible hail. MoHRE emphasized that all companies must comply with local authority directives and enforce occupational health and safety measures.
Authorities have also advised residents to stay indoors. Ongoing weather disruptions have led to localized flooding, property damage, and the temporary closure of public parks, beaches, and outdoor venues to ensure public safety.
