In a major America First foreign policy move, the Trump administration has announced that the United States will withdraw from 66 international organizations, nearly half of which are affiliated with the United Nations. The decision ends U.S. participation and funding in global bodies covering climate change, labor, migration, gender equality, and development, including major climate treaties and scientific panels.

The White House says the withdrawals are intended to refocus U.S. resources on national interests, reduce spending on agencies considered ineffective or contrary to American sovereignty, and prioritize domestic security and economic goals.

Critics warn that this retreat from multilateral diplomacy could weaken the United States’ influence on critical global issues such as climate action, international cooperation, and global development initiatives.
