President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has officially signed the General Appropriations Act (GAA) for Fiscal Year 2026, approving a ₱6.97-trillion national budget during a ceremony held on Monday, January 5, at the Ceremonial Hall of Malacañang Palace.

The President assured the public that every peso in the 2026 national budget will be used for the direct benefit of the Filipino people. He emphasized that the spending plan was carefully structured to support the country’s continued growth and address the most pressing needs of the nation.

According to the administration, the 2026 budget places strong focus on education, healthcare, food security, and the creation of more employment opportunities, reflecting the government’s commitment to improving public services and strengthening economic stability.

The Palace further highlighted that the approved budget is intended to serve as a foundation for inclusive and long-term national development, ensuring that growth reaches all sectors of society while supporting sustainable progress.
