The Office of the Ombudsman has filed malversation and graft charges against contractors Sarah Discaya and Ma. Roma Rimando, along with several officials from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The charges are related to an alleged ₱96.5-million ghost flood-control project in Davao Occidental.

According to Assistant Ombudsman Mico Clavano, the case documents were flown to Davao for formal filing before the Digos City Regional Trial Court (RTC). Clavano later confirmed that, as of 2:15 p.m., the charges had been officially lodged with the Digos City RTC.

He also stated that the DPWH officials implicated in the case have been placed under suspension, pending further investigation.

This move is part of the Ombudsman’s continuing efforts to ensure accountability and integrity in government projects and to prevent misuse of public funds.
