EJ Obiena further cemented his status as Southeast Asia’s premier pole vaulter after securing his fourth consecutive SEA Games gold medal, holding off a spirited challenge from Thai crowd favorite Amsam-Ang Patsapong.

Competing before a partisan home crowd, Obiena rose to the occasion with a decisive 5.70-meter clearance, sealing the title and reaffirming his dominance in the event.

Team Philippines also celebrated a strong showing as Kevin Elijah Cole reached the podium after clearing 5.20 meters, adding another medal to the country’s growing SEA Games tally.

Moments after his victory, Obiena headed to the stands to personally acknowledge Philippine Olympic Committee President Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino, sharing the triumph with national sports leaders and highlighting the collective pride of the Philippine delegation.
