Fulbright Philippines 2027–2028 Scholarship Opportunities for Filipino Students

Apply for the 2027–2028 Fulbright Program to pursue master’s or doctoral studies in the U.S., with full funding and support for Filipino scholars.

Fulbright Philippines has officially opened applications for the 2027–2028 Fulbright Foreign Student Program, inviting qualified Filipinos to pursue graduate studies and research opportunities in the United States. The program provides full grants, covering tuition, school fees, round-trip airfare, monthly living allowance, books and supplies, and health and accident insurance.
Scholarships are available for:
Master’s degree programs (1–2 years)
Doctoral degree studies (up to 2 years)
Non-degree doctoral dissertation research (up to 1 academic year)
Applicants may pursue fields under three main categories:
Global Issues – includes human rights, international law, public health, and STEM fields.
Study of the United States – programs focused on American society, culture, and institutions.
Open Grants – other disciplines not covered above.
Excluded fields include medicine, nursing, physical and occupational therapy, clinical psychology, medical technology, and accountancy.
Eligibility requirements:
Philippine citizenship with strong English proficiency
Bachelor’s degree in the chosen field
At least two years of professional work experience post-college
Good health and willingness to return to the Philippines after completing studies

Established jointly by the U.S. and Philippine governments, Fulbright Philippines is the oldest Fulbright Commission in the world. The program has cultivated a global network of leaders, including 83 MacArthur Fellows, 63 Nobel laureates (such as journalist Maria Ressa), and 93 Pulitzer Prize winners, demonstrating its lasting impact on leadership, innovation, and global scholarship.
