The DMW orders the immediate suspension of Alju International Manpower Services Inc. due to multiple violations of recruitment rules.

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has ordered the immediate preventive suspension of Alju International Manpower Services Inc. after establishing multiple violations of the 2023 DMW Rules and Regulations on the Recruitment and Deployment of Land-based Filipino Workers.
Based on the findings of the investigation, the recruitment agency was cited for misrepresentation, failure to issue official receipts, collection of excessive and premature placement fees, non-compliance with contractual obligations, and charging fees for unauthorized documentation. The preventive suspension was imposed to immediately stop the firm’s operations while the case undergoes further review and resolution.
The action stemmed from complaints filed by twenty worker-applicants bound for Europe, who reported paying placement fees of up to ₱80,000 each despite not being deployed. After evaluating the submitted evidence and records, the DMW determined that there is strong prima facie proof of recruitment violations, warranting the agency’s immediate suspension.
The DMW clarified that the complainants may represent only a portion of those affected and assured the public that accountability will be pursued through administrative proceedings and regular court actions. The department reiterated its firm stance against illegal recruitment and its commitment to safeguarding Filipino migrant workers.
In line with its welfare mandate, the DMW continues to provide comprehensive assistance to victims of illegal recruitment and trafficking, including financial aid, legal and administrative support, and assistance in filing criminal cases against offenders. The department reaffirmed its dedication to safe, fair, and ethical recruitment practices, emphasizing the protection of the rights and dignity of Filipino workers overseas.
