The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) released a statement on 3 December 2025, emphasizing that it remains fully committed to supporting the pursuit of justice by adhering strictly to legal procedures.

According to the agency, under the provisions of the New Passport Law, the DFA can cancel the passport of former Congressman Zaldy Co only when a court order is issued. The department clarified that it does not act unilaterally in such cases to ensure due process is upheld.

The DFA said that once the court order is received, it will immediately carry out its mandate in compliance with the law.
