President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. officially inaugurated AGAP.AI, a nationwide program by the Department of Education (DepEd) aimed at equipping Philippine students and teachers with artificial intelligence (AI) tools and training. The initiative marks a “new era” in Philippine education, emphasizing digital literacy, innovation, and future-ready skills.

AGAP.AI provides students from basic education with access to AI learning modules, interactive tools, and teacher-guided resources. The program is designed to help learners understand AI concepts, develop problem-solving skills, and explore technology-driven solutions for real-world challenges.

The DepEd highlighted that teachers will also receive specialized AI training, enabling them to integrate emerging technologies into the classroom. By fostering digital competence among students and educators, the program seeks to strengthen the Philippines’ position in the global technology landscape and prepare learners for future careers in STEM, innovation, and AI-driven industries.

Officials noted that AGAP.AI will be rolled out nationwide in phases, starting with pilot schools and expanding to cover all public basic education institutions. The initiative also includes online platforms, workshops, and support materials to ensure accessibility and effective implementation across regions.

Through AGAP.AI, the DepEd aims to empower students with the skills to navigate the digital age safely and responsibly, fostering a culture of innovation, creativity, and technological awareness from an early age.
