A Laguna court issues additional arrest warrants in the missing sabungeros case as prosecutors seek travel restrictions on the accused.
Philippine courts have issued additional arrest warrants in connection with the long-running case involving the disappearance of several sabungeros, marking a significant development in the ongoing legal proceedings.
The Regional Trial Court in Sta. Cruz, Laguna released a separate warrant against Charlie “Atong” Ang and former NCRPO Anti-Drug Unit chief Ryan Jay Orapa, charging them with kidnapping and serious illegal detention linked to the high-profile disappearances.
Following the issuance of the warrants, the Department of Justice announced plans to immediately pursue a Hold Departure Order, aimed at preventing the accused from leaving the country while the case moves forward. Prosecutors emphasized that this step is necessary to ensure the suspects remain within the court’s jurisdiction and face trial.
Justice officials reiterated their resolve to pursue accountability and uphold due process, stressing that the government remains committed to uncovering the truth behind the case as investigations and court proceedings continue.
The latest court action underscores renewed momentum in the effort to deliver justice for the victims and their families, as authorities intensify legal measures against those implicated in the case.
